A fire engine water tank required an urgent ‘While You Wait Repair’ this morning. The leak was quickly identified and one of our engineers set to work cutting out the split and injecting a heavy duty weld into the scar. The engine, a Mercedes Ategos, form the majority of the RBFRS fire engine fleet. Of these, four are specialist 4×4 vehicles based at strategic locations across Berkshire. This 13-28F model is 8.2m in length, 3.25m height with a maximum GVW of 13 tonnes (13,000kg). It is fitted with a 1,860-litre polypropylene water tank.
