We were approached by AJ Pavely in Birmingham to help re-design and manufacture the replacement fresh water and effluent tanks for the WCs on the Pendolino trains. The original tanks also made from polyethylene had quality and reliability issues. The brief was to come up with a tank system that would be more durable whilst still fitting in the existing space envelope.

The original design of the tanks was modified to relieve stress on the corners by increasing the corner radius. The material was also changed to a higher grade polyethylene and the wall thickness was increased to give the tank extra strength. The original interlocking design was retained to provide a more rigid installation.
